Ride London

This has to be one of the most intense shoots so far. Up in London by 5am, my colleague and myself took our spot on a Dual Carriageway flyover where we’d shoot the riders a few km from the start as they headed out around the Essex countryside, then we’d shoot them again on their way back.

There were 40 shooters in all, including some on the back of motorcycles.

The first elite riders came through at about 6:30am and from then we shot solidly for 12 hours. There were still riders coming from the start when the first finishers were on their way back from their 100 mile round trip!

I shot 30,000 images – by far the most I’ve done at a single event, and the team total was over 1million shots – a record for this company at a single event (no bonus though!)

Amazingly, due to our location which crossed a waterway, we were frozen most of the day – some other togs reckon they’d basked in tropical conditions!!
